memory of my wife and closest friend, 
Thelma Jean VandenBerg Herbener
(1924 – 1997)

Without her companionship and encouragement I would not have been involved in organizing reunions of the 475th Military Police Escort Guard Company.  These reunions have led to this book of memories of a time long past; the time in which I met and fell in love with this lovely human being.
